Psychosocial and Counselling Services

We provide counselling services and psychosocial support for girls who have experienced or are facing challenges relating to life transitions, family problem, rape, abuse, sexual harassment, gender-based violence, teenage pregnancy, child marriage, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues that affect their psychosocial wellbeing.

Our professional social workers and counsellors provide support, connection them to community resources and help them to understand their issues, improve coping skills, build resilience, reduce distress and suffering, and improve their well-being. There are limited counselling and psychosocial support services in Sierra Leone. Girls and women are often disproportionally affected by sexual and gender-based violence, rape, kidnaping and other forms of abuse, which are underreported due to fear, stigma, and discrimination. Girls who are facing significant challenges and lack support may drop out of school and face uncertain future. Counselling and psychosocial support can give girls hope and a strong foundation to thrive.
